Process Service & Criminal/Civil Records Checks Process Service: The following procedures apply to all process service. Where substitute (abode) services is allowed by law, clients will not be charged for additional process, served at the same time and location (specific apartment/residence/business). All other process will be billed at the appropriate rate shown below. The affidavit of service of process is notarized and filed with the appropriate circuit clerk’s office and a copy of the affidavit sent to the client. Attorney/law firms may request that we return the process and affidavit to their office so they may file it with the appropriate court, but this office files all others. Clients requesting that this agency obtain the initial seal and clerk’s signature from the appropriate circuit clerk’s office, will be billed an additional $25.00 plus mileage. For your convenience we have a process box located in the Circuit Clerk’s Office, second floor, Tazewell County Court House. If sufficient time exists to allow for service at least 3-days prior to the court date, the process may be mailed to our agency or we can pick up the process at your office. If the latter is desired, please contact us at 309.353.2070 and arrange for a pick-up between 08:30 and 09:00 on the next business day. If 24-hour or same day service is desired, we will make arrangements to pick up the process immediately or you can drop it off at our office located at 359 Margaret Street, Pekin. In addition, the law requires that when abode service is accomplished, a copy of the process, along with all accompanying documents, be mailed to the person served. To avoid incurring a charge for the duplication of needed copies, please furnish this office with three copies of each process. Unused copies will be returned, along with the affidavit/return of service. Should any of our employees fail to properly serve a process, the client will not be billed. If the client has already paid for the service, we will either re-serve the process, without charge, or issue a refund. Investigations: We conduct the folowing type of investigations. Process Service:
We currently serve over 95% of our process, but there is no guarantee that any process can be served. The more subject information available, the greater the probability of success. However, if we are unable to serve the process, we will contact the client for any additional information, which may not have previously been available; this usually results in a successful service. In the event that the process cannot be served, and with the understanding that our servers are expending their time and incurring vehicle expense, we charge full price* for not found. Criminal/Civil Records Checks:
*Mileage: All service of process requiring
travel outside the City of Pekin will be billed at the rate of $.30 cents
per mile for the first round-trip only. Mileage is not charged for second
or subsequent attempts on the same process. Mileage for records checks
is also billed at $.30 cents per mile. Repeat trips to pick up certified
